TouchClock 1.2
Posted 23. August 2008 at 12:01Categories: Development, TouchClock, iPhone
Since TouchClock 1.1 is now officially released I’m thinking about what I’m going to do for 1.2.
What I’m thinking about at the moment is:
- Planned Times (You can set the duration the tasks / work is planned and next to the normal clock you see a countdown clock where you see how many time is left or how much you’re overtime already)
- Multiple Tasks at the same time
- (And maybe: multiple main clocks)
You miss something very badly? Let me know!
Btw:
Maybe I put in a version 1.1.1 with a small change to the log-functionality.

Hi,
TouchClock is really good. Thanks so much. I posted a comment on the french app store to say all the good things I think about it.
I am a medical student. I work mostly at home and sometimes it is difficult to work (internet… tv… comics…). TouchClock monitors me like a mother ! It’s really usefull. Before, I did it with a simple timer. Now it is really better! Since I have the iPhone, I was looking for this kind of application.
I have some “request features” :
1) The most essential for me : the possibility to choose between two types of “pauses” : a “free pause” (without duration) and a “controled pause” with a selected time with an alarm. Example: I go to eat, I chose “free pause”. But if I stop working a few moments to cool my brain (!) I chose “controled pause” and I chose “5 minutes” or “10 minutes”. (with the same roll machine like in the alarm of the iphone) At the end of time, a sound says to me it is time to go back to work ! Because often my pauses… are a little bit too long… !
2) a landscape mode
3) a settings page inside the application (and note like somes others applications, with “settings” in the “settings” of the iphone)) so accessible from an “i” (for example, in the lower-right corner of the main screen) with some options like change color (timer, background)
4) a better presentation of the historic. (use of color. for exemple : Start in green and pauses in red)
5) in the historic, a page with a graphic to see the length of time worked on the last week, last month…
6) possibility of change the name of the task at any moment
7) for the main screen : timer bigger and in the center. The turning round smaller and bellow the timer.
I am sorry but I do not often have the opportunity to speak/write in English. So if you don’t understand what I mean, send me an email with the number of the feature request you do not understand and I will explain in another way!
Thanks a lot.

Touchclock is simple and truly great!
I’ve been using it now every time I sit down to work.
Please add the date to the log (history). That should hopefully be easy to implement and it’s the most important thing missing in this “lite” (initial) version.
I would also like to see the improvements mentioned in Jimmy’s comments from Aug.7:
- Support for multiple tasks that can be named before the clock is started.
- Start, pause, stop in each task. No need for the Control timer. It was confusing.
Actually, maybe you could explain your thinking behind the two separate screens (control & task), because I also don’t see the need, at least at the moment, considering that the program doesn’t (yet?) support multiple tasks.
Also, please separate the Stop and Resume/Pause buttons for easier operation. Consider placing the worked and elapsed total times between them.
Sylvain’s suggestion for timed pauses also sounds very useful.

I’m reading the suggestions and I’m thinking of them, be sure of that.
What I lack is the time, I’m sorry. I’m really am.
The control and the task is seperated because I haven’t seen a way to put it all together on one screen without having the problem of being ‘too much’ on a small place. I seperated them for the sake of easiness of the GUI.
And btw I’m working on multiple tasks
